Red Authentic Bento Box

How many bento boxes do you have. If you can't get enough, how about a bento box that is simple, authentic and is not childish yet look passionate in red. This one is a favourite among many adults and even suitable for the elderly. It comes in double deck, fit for rice and dishes. I like it's look because it looks classy like what you would get from the Japanese Bento set. I once use about 3 (6 if include double decks) of these for condiments for a party and received many compliments from the guests.

Ciao Oshibori Set

In Japan, an Oshibori is a wet towel that is usually given to the diner to wipe their hands clean before dining. Some uses it to wipe their face to freshen up too. When you are out and carrying your own lunch box, you can actually bring your own Oshibori towel in a case too. You will need to purchase a towel about hand size and wet it then fold in an oshibori case. These are for your personal use and certainly is better and more environmental friendly than the disposable ones.

Oshibori towel sets can be bought from the stores that sell bento lunch boxes as well, like this one, which is matched with a case.

Cubed Beef Steaks

Cube Steaks are popular in Japanese Restaurants. It is usually served in a hot, sizzling plate. They are very simple to make and cooking is up to you. Some like to cook it in a stove and transfer to a plate. Some prefer to have their beef cooked on the hot plate so that they can eat it immediately when it is not overdone.

Here is a very simple recipe.

Bunny Cookie Cutter

Cookies for Christmas! Yes, have you gotten your cookie cutters? Cookie Cutters are wonderful and can be used for any occasions. This one is a bunny shape and it can be used as a rice mould too. Use it as cutters for your cheese, bread, whatever creative creations you fancy. You can also use it for your easter cookies in the next few months to come.

I am thinking of making some sugar cookie so animal shapes are just wonderful. The children will love it. There is a little piece that you can use like a springform pan, to push the cookie dough out so that you need not use your hand at all. Useful.

2pack Bear Bento Disposable Box

My niece and nephew came by this morning. They are going to a school excursion and it is to the zoo. Wow, they are excited and cannot wait to pack their stuff. They also list down the food they like to bring. As an aunt, I usually give them lots of ideas when packing bento snacks. They will be in the zoo for almost a whole day and need to pack something. I got this cute bear shape disposble box for their lunch. I know they will prefer not to bring back boxes of stuff after eating them as kids are kids. This box is just right for the two of them. A pack of it has 2 sets (bento box and cover) and can be thrown away after use. They are so cute I'm sure their friends will end up looking at this bear then the one in the zoo!

Yellow Banana Case (L)

I've gotten banana case of pink and blue the last time. This time I got myself a yellow banana case. This yellow one is larger in size. It's great to fit two bananas in that is shorter. Or fit about 4 small little ones in this one. My friends always laugh when they see this case and thinks of other naughty things that it resembles! Anyway, I am not into having crushed mushy bananas when I bring them so these are just great! Yellow Banana Case, yeah!

Aluminium Animal MultiPurpose Mat

Picnic mats are very useful. You can use it when you have picnics of course. But I also use it as a large table mat/cloth when I have my barbecues. As Japanese mats comes in cute designs and characters, they look so attractive that I use it for this purpose. Last week, I bought this one which is a little thicker than the usual picnic mats. These are great to cover the picnic box to reflect it from the sun and keep your picnic box cool. It is because of the aluminium later on the outside. You can also use this on your car to keep the sun off by covering it on your car seats.

Animal designs are very popular among the young and old, of both genders.

Car Race Bento Box

Bento Box comes in so many shapes, variety and sizes. They suit both genders, male and female. Some friends have commented that most Bento accessory caters to the feminine and children than for men. Well, I guess that is because most of those who really takes the role of the kitchen and preparation of meals are women. And in Japan, the mothers need to prepare the Bentos for children about 2 or 3 times a week. The father do too, just that most of them are at work. Thus the job of selecting Bento accessory of course is monopolized by the women folk.

So what kind of stuff are there for men? Or boys. This bento box is definitely for boys. And why not men? After all, they do like cars, don't they. Aww come on. Bentos are very cute. This car collection is owned by many male friends and sons I know too.

Hello Kitty Chopsticks

Chopsticks are very meaningful to Asian, especially of chinese origin. I remembered a corporate company used to send a pair of chopsticks as a corporate gift for end of the year. It was sent as a significant of working together and importance of business relations because the chopsticks can never be used without a pair.

In Japan, chopsticks comes in sizes meant for different gender, a longer one for men, slightly shorter for the feminine and there is also child's size. With the child's size, chopsticks become something that adopted trend and become fashionable with time. Children's chopsticks are shorter and more colourful. With this concept, the longer ones for adult also adopted designs, colours and comes in all their favourite cartoon or other characters too.

This Hello Kitty chopsticks are popular among not just kids, but also adults. And now with this phenomenon of Bento Box lunch, no one really cares if it was meant for kids.

6-Animal 18 pc Separator Sheets

I like barans. Barans are food separator sheets for Bento meals. You place these in between different types of food to avoid them from mixing up. What is interesting is that these days they do not come in just the boring green separator 'grass looking' types. They now comes in many types of prints, animals, objects, cartoons, and even food items. I like to use it even though I may already have the bento dish because these cute little sheets just light up a kids' meal, like the wrapping paper of a present. They just look so cute, colourful and enhance the meal anytime.

These ones are just wonderful for kids. In 6 different animals - Elephant, Hen, Mouse, Dog, Rabbit and a cute little Panda. Each pack has 3 sheet of each animal, totalling 18 pcs of sheets. I not only use these on Bentos but also as a decor for my cakes and pastries!

Food Flags Hands and Face

Flags are a great way to bring some attention to your food. American food sometimes add an American flag to their signature dish to show a true American recipe or a meal. The same goes for a Japanese meal too. Even the KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) sometimes adopts the use of the logo on their fried chicken. It is like a finishing touch to the meal and adds some attention to it. How about using these cute face food flag picks on your little bites, meals when you have friends over or for your own little children's party?

These flags comes in 6 different facial expression, colour and is great to perk up your little finger food anytime. Another one is a set of hand gestures. They are just too cute.
